With Inherently Good Dogs, I am dedicated to helping dogs become their best selves through tailored behavior modification and training plans. I work with dogs of all breeds, ages, and behavioral challenges, specializing in behavior modification for severe issues such as human aggression, dog aggression, separation anxiety, resource guarding, reactivity, and extreme fear. Whether you need help with basic obedience, recall, crate training, leash walking skills, place work, or addressing nuisance behaviors like counter surfing, excessive barking, destructive behaviors, and jumping, I can help guide you and your dog towards success. However, the key to success in any training or behavior modification program is the owner’s commitment. To see and maintain long-term results, it is essential that owners are not only ready but also willing to actively participate in the process and make the necessary changes at home and to their relationship with their dog. Your dedication to consistency and effort will empower your dog to thrive, ensuring they become the best versions of themselves.
A 1.5 hour evaluation where I will get to know you and your dog better and evaluate the behaviors you are seeing / needing help with. I will go over things that you can start implementing right away and then we will then work together to come up with a training plan for you to continue working on your training goals. An initial evaluation is required in order to schedule follow up lessons, day training, board & train programs, or puppy development programs.

During a day training your dog will spend the day with me to work on your training goals for them. This is a great option to compliment a current training program or as a stand alone service, depending on the types of behaviors your dog has and what your training goals are. At pick up we will have a short 30-60 minute session to go over what your dog worked on for the day and show you how to continue the work at home.

All board & train programs are tailored to each individual dog based on their behaviors and the humans training goals. Board & train programs require the humans to be involved throughout the process by participating in weekly sessions or weekend go-homes during the program as well as follow up sessions (included in the pricing) after your dog has transitioned home. At the end of the program you will have a 2-3 hour go-home session which will focus on transitioning your dog back home, and you will also receive a written training plan that goes over all of the things your dog worked on / learned and how to continue that at home. An initial evaluation is required prior to scheduling a board and train program. Length and type of program will be dependent on your dogs behaviors/needs and your training goals.
*Rescue organizations do not need to do an initial evaluation but are required to schedule intake phone call prior to scheduling a board and train program.

Get your puppy started off on the right foot with potty training, crate training, leash training, proper socialization with humans and dogs, exposure to new things / environments, and basic obedience! This is a great way to start developing your pups skills and give you a great foundation to build off of to help your pup grow into a well balanced adult dog. The first year of your puppies life is a really important time where they will go through several key developmental periods that will shape who your puppy will become as an adult. Of course genetics will always play a role in temperament and behavior, but there is still a lot we can do while they are still young to help guide their behavior. This program is only for dogs who under 1 year old who are not displaying any serious behavioral issues. If you are unsure if your pup would be able to participate in this program please fill out the contact form to discuss!

Adventure retreats are exactly what they sound like - a retreat for your dog that is full of adventures! Your dog will stay in-home with me on my 10.5 acre property and spend time adventuring with me and my pack. Dogs will get to be dogs and spend time doing things like exploring, running, sniffing, digging, swimming, really whatever their hearts desire (within reason & so long as it is safe of course). Your dog does not have to be off leash trained or friendly with other dogs to participate! In fact, I HIGHLY encourage owners with reactive or aggressive dogs to consider this service as this is a great opportunity for them to get to do things they maybe wouldn't be able to because of their behaviors. Additionally, many dogs really benefit from being allowed so much freedom of movement and to be given the opportunity to destress and just be a dog without the worry of triggers. Intro to recall and leash skills included as part of the adventure retreats and you will have the option to add e-collar recall for an additional cost if desired.
*Dogs must be crate trained to participate in adventure retreats*

The two week decompress & assess is a great way for rescue organizations to allow a dog time to fully decompress in a low stress, calm, quiet, structured in-home environment with an experienced handler. This is also a fantastic way to get real in-home information about their behaviors and needs to help place them appropriately and successfully into a foster or adoptive home. This service includes follow up support via phone, text, or email to fosters or adopters at no additional cost.
This service was initially created with rescues in mind, but has actually been a great option for dog owners as well! This can be a great way to help give your dog a reset (and you a break) while also allowing me to really assess your dog in depth and get a better idea on their behaviors and needs. This is like an initial eval, but better and more in depth!

$1000 - regular

During our session we will go over any issues, concerns, or questions you have about your dogs behavior and work together to come up with a game plan to begin working on your training goals with your dog. This service is a great option for owners who may be outside of the area I can travel to, for owners who cannot invest too much money into training right now but still want help with their dog, or for owners with dogs who aren't having super serious behaviors but still need some guidance on how to best help their dog. Virtual sessions can be done via FaceTime, Zoom, Google Hangouts, or another video chatting platform that works for you. Once you book your session I will reach out to ask which platform you would like to use.
