Better boarding, Happier Dogs

A quiet, relaxing, personalized, enrichment filled, boarding experience! Boarding is offered in my home on 10.5 acres in the country for training clients, rescue organizations, and dogs with special handling needs. I have extensive experience with handling a variety of behavioral needs and I would love to be able to give your dog a safe and relaxing space to stay while you are away! I know first hand just how hard it can be to find boarding for dogs who have behavioral concerns and I also know that facility settings don't always work for every dog. My focus is on creating a calm environment and fulfilling your dogs social, mental, and physical needs during their stay. Because of the personalized attention given to all dogs in my care, boarding space is limited to ensure adequate care and attention is given to each dog during their stay.

If you are not an established training client but are looking for boarding for your dog who has special handling needs, who would not do well in a facility, or simply would like an in-home option, please fill out the contact form to discuss setting up a boarding eval. Prospective rescue clients, please fill out the contact form to set up a time for a phone call to discuss if I might be a good option for boarding for your harder rescue dogs.

Requirements for Boarding

A boarding evaluation is required for any dog that is not an established rescue or training client. If you have a dog that is human aggressive and/or has a serious bite history I will require a meet and greet prior to scheduling a boarding eval. I may also require for your dog to be fully muzzle trained before they can board.

Dogs must be comfortable in a kennel in order to board with me. This means that your dog should be able to spend periods of time relaxing in their kennel without excessive vocalization, destructive behaviors, attempting to escape, or injuring themselves. It is ok if they need a specific kind of kennel or an escape proof one, but I am not able to kennel train dogs who are here for boarding. *The ONLY exception to this may be for rescue organizations, but there may be an additional charge if I need to do extensive work to get a dog comfortable in a kennel.

Vaccines

All dogs are required to be up to date on rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccines. Titer tests accepted but please contact me to discuss prior to requesting boarding.  I also HIGHLY recommend they are current on heart-worm and flea & tick preventative as well.

Intact Dogs

I accept both intact males and females for boarding. Intact males and females will not be allowed to socialize together regardless of if the female is in a heat cycle. I do accept females in heat to board but they will not be allowed to socialize with and will be kept completely separate from other dogs.

*Drop off and pick up is by appointment only*

What is Included

Regular Boarding

Includes daily exercise, playtime, and socials with humans and/or dogs depending on your dogs needs and temperament.

Enrichment Boarding

Includes daily exercise, playtime, and socials with humans and/or dogs depending on your dogs needs and temperament. PLUS mini basic training sessions, and additional exercise and/or enrichment activities. Great for dogs who need a little extra during their stay!

Kennel sizes and types vary depending on the size of your dog and their needs, but all kennels will have a cushioned kennel pad, water pail, blanket, and a bone to chew. If your dog is not destructive towards bedding they will also have an extra plush blanket and/or plush bed in their kennel. Typically you can expect your dog to be in a kennel that is one to two sizes bigger than what is required for their size so that they have additional room to spread out.

Dogs are taken out to potty and stretch their legs a minimum of 4 times per day between the hours of 6am - 10pm. Additional potty breaks for seniors, puppies, and for those who need it will be accommodated. Depending on your dogs' temperament and needs, you can expect them to spend several hours throughout the day getting exercise, enrichment, socialization, playtime, sunbathing, or snuggling up on a soft bed or the couch if that is their thing. While dogs will have to spend time in their kennels during the day and overnight, they will have multiple opportunities each day for social, mental, and physical enrichment.

High quality limited ingredient treats, bones, and peanut butter kongs/bones are included during your dogs stay at no additional cost.

There is no additional charge for medications and/or supplements to be given. If your dog requires special baths or other cleanings (such as their ears or paws) this may result in an additional fee. I will not 'pill' dogs so please work to come up with an alternative way to give medications if your dog typically takes them this way. Please reach out if you have questions about whether your dogs needs would require a fee.

What to Bring

Food:

Please bring enough food for your dogs entire stay. Label with their name, amount per meal, and number of meals per day. *I recommend packing extra food in case you need to extend their stay. I have "house food" available for $4 per meal if your dog runs out during their stay. I am happy to accommodate raw feeding, I just ask that meals are pre-portioned out.

Medications / Supplements:

Please bring enough medication / supplement for your dogs entire stay. Make sure everything is clearly labeled with your dogs name, name of the medication or supplement, dosage, number of doses per day, if it needs to be given at a specific time, and if there is a special way to give it (i.e in peanut butter, with wet food.. etc). *I recommend packing extra medications/supplements in case you need to extend their stay.

Leash & Collar:

Please bring your dogs leash and a collar with identification on it that can easily be removed for when they are in their crate.

Treats:

Feel free to send your dogs favorite treats or non-rawhide chews with them!

Bones / Toys:

I can accept hard bones for use in their kennel, but typically recommend no soft toys or ones that could easily be ripped up and potentially eaten. I can accept toys but they will only be given to your dog when supervised. I do have benebones and nylabones available if you do not want to bring your own.

Beds / Blankets:

I can accept beds and blankets as long as they are easily machine washable and not of sentimental or irreplaceable value. I am not responsible for any damages to personal items.
